With Liverpool already through to the next round, Porto should have every chance to come away with a result to secure some points Wednesday on Paramount+. Liverpool have been perfect through Champions League play but with qualification secured and players in need of rest, they could spring a few surprises in their lineup. Liverpool won their last match 5-1 but this one should be a little closer. Porto have yet to defeat Liverpool in Champions League play so they will hope for rotation otherwise they’ll need to defeat Atletico Madrid on the final day to secure their ticket to the round of 16.

Liverpool have been almost unbeatable at home in the Champions League under Jurgen Klopp losing only two of 23 home matches. Not much needs to be said about Mohamed Salah’s otherworldly form this season either.

Here’s are storylines, how you can watch the match and more:

Storylines

Liverpool: Currently, Liverpool is just trying to get healthy. In their match against Arsenal Roberto Firmino, Andrew Robertson, Joe Gomez, Naby Kieta, Divock Origi, Curtis Jones, and Harvey Elliott were all injured, which left four academy players who have yet to make their debuts had filling out the bench. While Tyler Morton did come on for his debut, Jurgen Klopp will hope to have some of his regulars available heading into the festive period. Just getting through this game healthy will be a success for the Reds.

Porto: There isn’t a much tougher assignment in Champions League play than an away trip to Anfield. Porto will hope that their defense holds up as they’ve only conceded six goals in the group stage. The issue is that five of those were conceded to Liverpool… Porto will need Sergio Oliviera to be in top form with a Pepe defensive masterclass to get a point here.

Prediction

Liverpool’s form is too strong right now. Even if Mohamed Salah is rested, Sadio Mane will be too much for Porto to handle. Pick: Liverpool 3, Porto 1
