Chelsea fans are split over the Achraf Hakimi transfer decision after PSG reportedly lodged a bid of around €70million (£60m) for the Inter Milan wing-back.
The Blues enjoyed a fairytale ending to the season, clinching their second UEFA Champions League trophy after a 1-0 victory over Manchester City in Porto last month.
Despite their successful end to the campaign, Thomas Tuchel reportedly wants to add three new faces to his squad in the shape of a right-sided defender, a central-midfielder and an elite striker.
It is understood that the German coach, who arrived in London six months ago, is extremely keen on signing Inter Milan defender Achraf Hakimi to compete with Reece James at right-wingback ahead of next season.
The Blues are said to have submitted an initial offer of £56.1m for the former Dortmund wideman’s services a little over two weeks ago, a bid that was eventually rebuffed as the Nerazzurri are reportedly holding out for a fee closer to £70m for the Morrocan.
However, French side PSG are also interested in signing Hakimi this summer and Sky Italia journalist Fabrizio Romano reported on Thursday that the Parisians are expected to bid around €70m for the Inter wingback, agreeing on personal terms in the process.
The news is a big blow for Chelsea amid their search for an elite wingback and a number of the Blues’ supporters took to social media to voice their reactions to the news.

@eric_3196 said: “I don’t see anyone else this interested in Adama Traore. That should be a sign”.
@Pax_Soprana said: “For that price I’m fine missing out on him”.
@alx69 said: “Stumbling out of the gate on the transfer market, a big name striker will probably make or break this window now”.
@RamsayMacdonald said: “70m for Hakimi would make him the most expensive fullback of all time. Is it really worth investing that kind of figure on a player whose strengths lie in a 3 at the back system?”
@ThatFatRonaldo said: “Yeah, Hakimi would be a nice transfer, but he’s not worth 70m.”
@TheWisemansBeard said: “Hakimi’s loss, not ours.”
@Forever_Blu said: “I just hope this doesn’t result in mediocre signings for that position.”
Former Real Madrid and Brazil defender Roberto Carlos weighed in on Hakimi earlier this week, stating that he is ‘one of the best’ right-backs he had ever seen.
“With Cafu and (Javier) Zanetti, (Hakimi is) one of the best right-backs I’ve seen,” Carlos said on Pierluigi Pardo’s Twitch account.
Considering Carlos, along with the aforementioned Zanetti and Cafu are three of the best full-backs in recent memory it is high praise indeed for the Moroccan international.
