Chelsea have been alerted with recent developments in the future of Marseille central midfielder Boubacar Kamara.

Kamara has been offered out to many clubs by the Ligue 1 outfit but at this moment no bids have come in for the young French midfielder.

The 21-year-old is one of the potential alternatives to West Ham star Declan Rice, with fellow French midfielder Eduardo Camavinga also an option if the Blues cannot secure the services of the England midfielder this season.

football.london understands that at moment a deal for Rice will be difficult for Chelsea to complete with the £80million price tag proving a stumbling block.

Therefore, alternatives to the 22-year-old are currently being explored by the West London club.

And the Blues have received a big transfer boost in the hunt to sign a midfielder for next season, with target Kamara available at a relatively low price.

Get French Football News state that the ongoing situation regarding Kamara is causing concern at Marseille.

They have reportedly offered the 21-year-old to multiple sides this summer, but there have been no bids thus far. Marseille need to raise money due to the ongoing financial crisis facing a number of clubs, and it was thought Kamara would be a good source of revenue.

However, the midfielder could now go for as little as €15million (£12.8million) plus add-ons.

It isn’t just Chelsea who could be looking to bring the 21-year-old to England. According to the Mirror, fellow Premier League club Newcastle United are eyeing up a £15million move for Kamara amid the Ligue 1 cash crisis caused by Covid-19.

Kamara played 43 games for Marseille in all competitions last season and his form across the campaign means he is a saleable asset for the French club.

He is described by many as Marseille’s ‘technical destroyer’ in the midfield- a label which is backed up by statistics from the 2020/21 Ligue 1 season.

The summer window is officially open and now the Blues can look to build on European glory and bolster the squad to push for Premier League supremacy.

According to FBref.com, Kamara was ranked in the top 10 for the number of passes completed into the final third (163- 10th) last season.

The 21-year-old also was also ranked within the top echelons when it came to tackles (98- 10th), and the amount of touches on the ball (2387- 10th).

It’s uncertain to whether Chelsea will make an official move for the midfielder this summer, but if the Rice deal keeps stalling, then we could see some movement on alternative midfield options as the transfer window progresses further.
