On Sunday afternoon, Arsenal will be hoping to make it four wins on the bounce as they travel to rock-bottom Norwich City.

The Gunners have reacted positively to the setbacks endured against Manchester United and Everton, taking maximum points off Southampton, West Ham and Leeds in the process.

One of the key contributors to the upturn in the Gunners’ form has been Norwegian playmaker Martin Odegaard.

Signed for a fee believed to be in the region of £30million, the 23-year-old has delivered impressive levels of consistency in the number 10 position over the past few weeks, following a mixed start to the 2021/2022 campaign.

Odegaard has been crucial in linking attacks together between the lines, pressing from the front, along with showing quality in his final action.

In the Gunners’ last six Premier League games, the former Real Madrid star has notched three goals and one assist, which takes his tally to six-goal contributions across all competitions this season.

Prior to arriving in north London, there was a growing belief that Odegaard was planning to stay put in Spain.

But following lengthy discussions between both Real Madrid and Arsenal, an agreement was made between the two clubs which allowed Odegaard to make a permanent switch to north London, following his loan stint the previous season.

Recently, he spoke to Norwegian media Viaplayfootball about how it was the ‘right choice’ to leave Madrid.

“I feel like it was the right choice when things were the way they were in Madrid,” Odegaard said to Viaplayfootball.

“I signed when I was 16 and now was the right time to look to the future. I thought this was the perfect club (Arsenal) for me,”

Odegaard will hope that he can continue to influence proceedings for the Gunners during the festive period, in a bid to help the club maintain its position in the Premier League’s top four.
