Here is your Arsenal morning digest for Saturday, August 21.
Arsenal have completed the signing of Norway captain Martin Odegaard on a long-term contract for a fee in the region of £30million.
The 22-year-old, who will wear the no.8 with the Gunners, spent the second half of last season on loan at the Emirates Stadium before sealing a permanent switch on Friday, something head coach Mikel Arteta admitted he was extremely excited about.
“He brings a lot of things that he brought last season as well,” Arteta told the club website.
“He made us better, we needed more options, alternatives, creativity and players that can be morals for this football club. He is still a really young man but he has huge experience in different clubs already.”

Arteta gives Aubameyang update
Mikel Arteta has given an update on the availability of Pierre-Emerick Aubamand and Alexandre Lacazette, who both missed last week’s Premier League opener against Brentford.
“I don’t know if they’re going to be able to train a few hours or compete at the weekend. I don’t know”, Arteta said in his press conference when asked if the players that missed last week’s clash would be available on Sunday.
“Still very uncertain. I cannot give you any answer because I don’t know. I don’t know if they’re going to be able to train in a few hours.
“Well, they had some tough days to be fair. Laca still hasn’t trained so he’s not been really good. Auba had a training session yesterday.”

Arsenal’s transfer battle with Tottenham for Lyon playmaker Houssem Aouar could go right to the wire, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
Romano said on Don Robbie’s YouTube channel : “It is a complicated situation on agent’s side because as they say from France, it’s true that there is some situation from agent’s side, and that’s why I would keep an eye on Aouar till the last day of the window because now still some rumours we have with Tottenham and with Arsenal.
“These two clubs are really interested in Aouar. Fabio Paratici wanted him one year ago when he was at Juventus. He had to make a decision between Aouar and Chiesa, they decided to go for Federico Chiesa.”
