Mesut Ozil may have left Arsenal in January, but he could play a major role in helping his former club receive a small cash injection.
In fact, it has been claimed that the Super Lig club have already made an ‘offer’ for the Arsenal left-back who spent the second half of the season on loan at former club Schalke but couldn’t help them avoid being relegated from the Bundesliga.
There is no indication as to how much Galatasaray bid for Kolasinac, who according to the CIES Football Observatory, has an estimated transfer value of €4m-€7m (£3.4m-£6m).
If the reported bid is in that region then Arsenal could be in line to receive a welcome boost in their bid to raise at least £60million through players sales this summer in order to fund their transfer missions.
And Ozil just might help them get started.
The aforementioned report also states that the playmaker has been in touch with Kolasinac in a bid to convince his close friend to join him in Turkey after joining Fenerbahce in January.
Having recommended Galatasaray to the 27-year-old, Ozil is said to have sent a ‘message’ to the Bosnia international.
“This could be a new beginning for you,” Ozil is reported to have told Kolasinac.

Whether Ozil’s plan is successful remains to be seen, but Kolasinac is expected to leave Arsenal this summer.
As previously reported by football.london , Schalke and Serie A side Lazio keen on signing the defender on a permanent deal with his contract at the Emirates Stadium up in June 2022.
The Gunners are in the market for a new left-back to provide cover for Kieran Tierney next season and have been linked with Ryan Bertrand and Josh Doig.
