Arsenal have been linked with a move for Real Sociedad youngster Alexander Isak.
However, any potential deal that would see the 21-year-old arrive at the Emirates Stadium this summer is dependant on at least one striker leaving the Gunners.
In addition, the report states that Isak, who scored 17 goals in 34 La Liga appearances this season, has a €70million (£60.2m) release clause in his contract with the La Liga outfit.
Of course, that fee could very well be out of Arsenal’s reach this summer and they may need to negotiate with Sociedad to reach an agreement on a deal for lower than the release clause.
But if the north London outfit find themselves in a position to trigger Isak’s release clause and Edu is able to complete a £60m deal this summer then he could allow Mikel Arteta to unleash the ‘new Zlatan Ibrahimovic’.
“Isak has enormous potential. If everything goes well, he could become Sweden’s new Zlatan Ibrahimovic,” Chinedu Obasi – a former teammate of the 21-year-old at AIK – said a few years ago.
Given Isak’s height of 6ft4 and the fact he’s Swedish, it’s only natural that he would be compared to the former Barcelona, Manchester United and Juventus striker.
Although, it’s a comparison Isak has taken in his stride.
“I’ve been compared to Zlatan a lot of times, it’s nothing that concerns me. I just want to be myself, do my best, and we’ll see where it leads,” he told reporters in 2019.
The summer window is officially open, and it’s going to be tough to keep up with the comings and goings in and out of the Emirates.

Interestingly, just as Isak was breaking through as a youngster in 2016, he was praised by Ibrahimovic, who is said to have recommended him to both Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain.
“I have seen him in action and he is fantastic,” the AC Milan star said.
That is quite the verdict from one of the finest strikers of his generation and perhaps another reason why Arsenal should do everything they can to sign Isak.
