Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Moussa Sissoko has admitted that teammate Harry Kane is a player that deserves to win titles “season after season,” as speculation concerning the England captain’s future continues to mount.

Speculation about the striker’s future in north London has been one of the most talked about topics in football in the last couple of weeks after he opened up to Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville about his plans for the future.

Kane has not directly told Spurs’ hierarchy that he wants to seal an exit, but it is common knowledge that he does relish the challenge of competing for silverware, so much so that he plans to have a discussion with Daniel Levy about his future.

Although Kane’s main focus over the next few weeks is going to be trying to help England win the European Championship for the very first time, debate about his future at club-level is not going to disappear.

For fellow Spurs star Sissoko, who will be representing France at this summer’s rearranged Euro 2020, he remains in the dark about what the future holds for Kane, but insists a player like him deserves to be winning titles.

“Like all players, he wants to win titles,” Sissoko told Foot Mercato, as qouted by the Metro. “A player of his stature deserves to win titles season after season. Sadly, we have failed to do so each time for various reasons. I think that this must irk him inside.

“He did not officially say that he wanted to leave the club. Harry is one of the best attackers in the world. Each year, he finishes as the top scorer in the Premier League or is among the best goalscorers in the league.

“He had an exceptional year because he finished as top scorer and top assister in the Premier League.

“I do not know if he will leave or not but if he ever did leave, I would wish him the best.”

Kane, who has been nominated for the Men’s PFA Player of the Year award, is one of the Premier League’s greatest players, proven with his tally of 23 goals and 14 assists this season.

Sissoko has described him as an “extraordinary player” and admits he would love to keep playing alongside him.

The Frenchman added: “He deserves to win titles with all that he has done. He is truly an extraordinary player.

“We would like to have him with us for as long as possible.

“Aside from that, it is all between the president, his agent and him but I simply wish him the best.”
