Wilfried Zaha’s penalty right at the end of the first half topped off a fantastic first half from the hosts who started the match much the livelier of the two sides.
Brighton were forced to push up the pitch more in the second half but the game looked to be heading for a home win before Neil Maupay netted an equaliser with virtually the last kick of the game.
Palace players sunk to the ground in despair as the goal went in – the first that Vieira’s side have conceded at home so far this season.
