Paul Pogba has already ‘signed’ for Chelsea in an alternative reality, but could he do so in real life?
During that summer’s World Cup, footage of how Pogba would relax in between games was released and his choice of team may have come as a surprise to many.
Considering this was two years before sealing a return to Manchester United, it may have been a clue as to potentially joining Chelsea at some point in the future.
After all, a year later he was linked with a move to Stamford Bridge as revealed by his agent Mino Raiola.
“Paul could have left [Juventus] last year because Mourinho – then at Chelsea – really wanted him,” Raiola told Rai Sport in 2015. “But Juventus and I had agreement: win the league title and the Champions League, then he can go.”
But Pogba clearly wanted to envisage himself at Chelsea in 4-2-3-1 system alongside Frank Lampard in a double pivot.
In truth, his starting XI for a game against Arsenal wasn’t too dissimilar to a team that Jose Mourinho could have named in the 2014/15 season.
Although, two other additions Pogba made to the squad were Kwadwo Asamoah and Jese Rodriguez.

Of course, Pogba’s decision from 2014 does not necessarily mean that he was angling for a move to the Blues in real life at the time, nor does it suggest he would ever want to play for the west London outfit.
However, if he does, this summer might be the best chance to do so.
The summer window is officially open and now the Blues can look to build on European glory and bolster the squad to push for Premier League supremacy.

As per the Mirror, Pogba has rejected a new £50million contract at Old Trafford, meaning the club have been forced to look at selling their club-record £89million signing this summer – or risk losing him for free in June 2022.
The most likely destination for the Frenchman is Paris Saint-Germain and they are ready to pay £45million to get a deal done.
Although, United are reportedly only willing to sanction his sale if their £50million valuation is met which could be a boost for Chelsea and Thomas Tuchel.
