Piers Morgan names manager who should replace Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta at the Emirates

Piers Morgan has backed Crystal Palace boss Patrick Vieira to replace Mikel Arteta as Arsenal manager. The north London outfit are currently in a torrid run of form, losing four of their last five Premier League outings, scoring just two goals in that period.

That run of form has seen them slip from fourth to sixth in the league table, with local rivals Tottenham Hotspur now three points above them in the race to qualify for next season’s UEFA Champions League, whilst Manchester United are level on points but sit fifth given their superior goal-difference.

Now, controversial Gunners supporter Morgan has taken to social media to voice his displeasure with tArteta, urging the club to replace him with former Invincible and current Palace head coach Vieira. His Tweet read: “Trust the process!’ No thanks. #ArtetaOUT #VieiraIN.”

Morgan has often voiced his frustrations with Arteta, who has overseen back-to-back eighth-placed league finishes prior to this season. Speaking in his post-match press conference after Saturday’s 1-0 defeat to Southampton, the Spaniard admitted that his side are feeling ‘down’ given their recent slump in form.

“They are really down today, and they are down because they cannot find the right answer apart from what we can do better around the box, and not to win the match”, he said, when asked how his players feel after the loss to the Saints. “That’s the frustration – when somebody is better than you you shake their hands and you have to do something, you have to believe yourself you have to be critical of yourself.

“But when it’s happening the way it happened – apart from 25 minutes against Palace, and some period against Brighton in the first half – it’s very difficult to explain, and accept.”
