Arsenal fans have been reacting to Mikel Arteta’s starting XI to face Liverpool this evening.
The Gunners return from the international break with a bang this evening as they face one of the rivals in their bid for Europe in Liverpool at the Emirates Stadium.
Both sides’ European hopes hang in the balance with Jurgen Klopp’s men currently seventh, two points off the top six and five points off the top four.
While Arsenal are in ninth and four points worse off, meaning they likely cannot afford to suffer defeat if they want to qualify for Europe through the Premier League this season.
Ahead of the game, Arteta has confirmed the Gunners side to face last season’s champions, and there are four changes to the starting XI from the draw with West Ham before the international break.
Rob Holding and Gabriel Maghalaes come into the defence in place of David Luiz and Pablo Mari, while Danie Ceballos replaces Granit Xhaka in the midfield.
The final change sees Nicolas Pepe replace the injured Bukayo Saka in the front line, which includes Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette as expected.
Martin Odegaard will play behind that front three with Ceballos and Partey making up the midfield. Kieran Tierney and Calum Chambers make up the defence, along with the aforementioned Gabriel and Holding, with Bernd Leno in goal.
Arsenal fans have reacted to that team selection on Twitter, and there seems to be concern around one player in particular.

@GunnerMiguel – “I think chambers will get roasted – Cedric should play. Where are Saka and Smith Rowe.”
@BrianWesa – “Chambers had a good game last time. His crosses were on point. Now, will he manage the pace of Mane?”
