Chelsea supporters have been left mightily relieved after reports suggested that Blues icon Frank Lampard had pulled out of the running to become the next Norwich City manager.
The Canaries have been on the lookout for a new boss after they sacked Daniel Farke, with the club rooted to the bottom of the Premier League table.
Despite the side having earned their first victory of the season against Brentford, the German was still relieved of his duties.
After his sacking, attention turned to his potential replacement, with the likes of former Aston Villa boss Dean Smith joining Chelsea hero Lampard as potential candidates.
It now appears that the latter will not become Norwich’s new manager though, with reports on Friday afternoon suggesting that he had turned down the opportunity to take over the east Anglian outfit, prolonging his period out of the game.
Whilst the news will of course be a disappointment to Norwich supporters, Chelsea fans did not quite share their sentiments, suggesting that Lampard had indeed made the correct decision, with some even touting him for a somewhat more prestigious job in the future.

Lampard has now been out of the game for just under a year following his sacking by Chelsea in January.
He was eventually replaced by Thomas Tuchel, who has of course enjoyed a wonderful impact at Stamford Bridge having lifted the Champions League and UEFA Super Cup, whilst he now has the Blues sitting atop the Premier League table.
It remains to be seen when Lampard will return to management having enjoyed previous spells with the Blues and Derby County in the Championship – leading the Rams to the play-off final where they were defeated by Aston Villa.
