Storylines

PSG: For the hosts, it is all about getting ready for next week’s clash with Real. The thumping win away at Lille OSC last week was unexpected and a similar display will build up some real momentum heading into that meeting with the Spanish giants. Since their Coupe de France exit and given their Ligue 1 lead, the Champions League is more important than ever for Les Parisiens.

Rennes: Still alive in Europe, Genesio’s men are looking to secure UEFA Europa League qualification and they are on course to do so at present. The UCL might be too far away with six points between themselves and Marseille, but OM have started to stutter of late which perhaps presents an opportunity to push.

Prediction

If the Champions League mindset has already taken hold, it could be a similar performance to the one we saw against LOSC. Expect Mbappe and Messi to try to pick up where they left off given the uncertainty over Neymar’s fitness for Real.

Pick: PSG 3-1 Rennes.
