‘Rivals beware’ – Chelsea fans are delighted after what Kai Havertz did in midweek

Premier League football is not far away from making a return and Chelsea will be looking to cement their position at the top of the table.

A 3-1 win against Southampton before the international took Thomas Tuchel’s men to the front of the pack but a clash with Brentford poses a potential banana skin their way.

The Bees have already taken points off Arsenal and Liverpool this season and will no doubt be eyeing another scalp against their west London rivals.

But there are still a number of international matches left to be played and, on Tuesday night, Kai Havertz grabbed the headlines with a goal against North Macedonia in Germany’s World Cup qualifier.

A brilliant through ball by Serge Gnabry found Thomas Muller, who teed Havertz up for the winning goal and one that confirmed Germany’s place at the Qatar World Cup.

A man for the big occasion.

Aside from an excellent header against Liverpool, Havertz has endured a slow start to the season but there will be hopes around the club that this goal will boost his confidence.

When the attacker slotted the ball home against Macedonia, Chelsea fans on Twitter exploded with excitement, poring praise on Havertz.

Here is the best of their reaction.
