Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has been sanctioned by the UK government due to his close ties to Russian president Vladimir Putin.
That means his assets have been frozen, and as such the ongoing sale of the club is unable to progress.
As well as that, a number of other restrictions have been placed on the club, although they have been granted a special football licence which means their Premier League matches will still take place, albeit with restrictions on them.
