Romelu Lukaku to start against Man United as Chelsea ‘agree’ to sell Christian Pulisic

Here are your Chelsea morning headlines on Thursday, November 25.

Romelu Lukaku hints at Manchester United return

Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku has hinted that he is close to returning to full fitness after what he was seen doing post-Juventus Champions League win.

Lukaku, 28, suffered an ankle injury in the 4-0 triumph on Malmo in the Champions League at Stamford Bridge back in October.

It seemed likely that Chelsea supporters would see the club-record signing back and featuring in the latter stages of the 4-0 win against the Serie A side on Tuesday night, but manager Thomas Tuchel decided against taking that risk despite what he alluded too in his pre-match press conference on Monday afternoon.

“Not sure yet,” Tuchel told reporters.

Tuchel will want his talismanic figure to be past a minimum level of fitness if he is to start the encounter, as he looks to get him back up to pace post-injury. And spotted something after the final whistle which was encouraging for all to see from a Chelsea perspective.

Lukaku himself was filmed running freely with a large proportion of the Blues substitutes on the night which can only spell good news ahead of his returning prospects this weekend.
