Ruben Neves’ transfer stance becomes clear as fresh Andre Onana to Arsenal update given

Here is your Arsenal morning digest on Thursday, July 29.

Neves waits for United transfer

Ruben Neves prefers a move to Manchester United this summer, despite reported interest from Arsenal.

That’s according to Eurosport reporter Dean Jones, speaking on the Football Terrace podcast, who says the Wolves midfielder is “not sure” that moving to the Gunners is the “right move” for him at this stage of his career.

Neves has been linked with a move to Arsenal and Man United in recent weeks, but he is reportedly prepared to wait in order to seal a move to Old Trafford.

Jones said: “I haven’t heard much about Aouar to be honest, but in terms of Neves, they’ve definitely tried that.

“Again, the player’s not sure if that’s the right move for him at this stage.

“With Man United also in view for him, he’d rather wait things out and see whether that will actually come to fruition.”

Overmars issues Onana update

Marc Overmars has revealed there is yet to be any contact between Ajax and Arsenal for goalkeeper Andre Onana this summer.

football.london understands that the Gunners held talks with Onana ‘s representatives earlier in the transfer window, but have now turned their attention to Aaron Ramsdale of Sheffield United.

Overmars, formerly of Arsenal and now a director at Ajax, told Voetbal International: “[I’m] not sure if we will get a deal with Lyon, there has not been contact for a week.

“Another club were also interested, but they already have another goalkeeper. Arsenal were also mentioned, but I have not had any contact with them.”

Brandt opens up on Dortmund future

Julian Brandt has insisted he will be staying at Borussia Dortmund next season despite being linked with a move to Arsenal.

The Gunners have been interested in Brandt for a long time now, according to various reports, and the Germany international has been involved in numerous rumours over the last few months.

However, the Dortmund star has now issued an honest update on where his future lies.

He said to RTL: “Of course, it’s nice when other clubs express interest. But from my side, there have never been any signs that I was thinking about a transfer.

“I don’t think I’ll be playing anywhere else this year.”
