Sergino Dest makes decision about his future as Arsenal eye Hector Bellerin replacement

Sergino Dest is ‘only thinking about Barcelona’ despite Arsenal’s interest in the right-back.

That’s according to Spanish news outlet Sport, who say that the Gunners are keen on signing the American defender with speculation Hector Bellerin could leave this summer.

football.londonunderstands that Bellerin moving to Real Betis in the upcoming transfer window is ‘difficult, but not impossible’.

The Spaniard has two years remaining on his deal at the Emirates Stadium, but is keen on leaving the club in the summer after spending over a decade in north London.

Betis’ sporting director Antonio Cordon has already met with Bellerin ‘s agent over a potential move.

So, Arsenal would most likely be after a new right-back if he does indeed leave in the summer, and Dest is the latest man to be linked.

However, the 20-year-old has ‘not stopped to listen to a single offer’, with the defender keen on fighting for his place at the Camp Nou after an inconsistent season.

‘Several clubs’ are trying to take advantage of the ‘difficult economic moment’ that Barca are experiencing right now, the report also claims.

According to Bleacher Report, Dest has a £343million release clause in his contract with the Catalan club, making a deal even more complicated for the Gunners.

Numerous players are expected to leave Arsenal this summer, with football.london revealing recently that the club are set for a massive overhaul after a very disappointing 2020/21 campaign.

There is set to be signings in at least five different positions, and with Bellerin looking increasingly likely to depart, the right-back position could be a priority for Mikel Arteta and Edu.
