Sergio Aguero makes transfer announcement as Chelsea can pull off £61m Eden Hazard masterstroke

Here’s all the news from around Stamford Bridge over the past 24 hours.

Hazard return?

Mundo Deportivo claim Real Madrid could sell Eden Hazard this summer in a bid to recoup at least some of the large fee they spent on the former Chelsea star.

Though, it’s clear Los Blancos are not going to make back anywhere near as much as they spent with the Belgian’s value dropping significantly in recent months.

Hazard’s lack of action has seen his value tumble with CIES Football Observatory suggesting Real Madrid might have to take a loss of around £42million.

Transfermarkt, meanwhile, have claimed the 30-year-old is now only worth £36million, dropping from £135million from the point of his move to the Spanish capital.

Though, even at the start of this season, Hazard’s value had dropped to £54million following last season’s injury trouble.

The drop in value will be crushing for Real Madrid, but it might present an opportunity for Chelsea, who could get Hazard back and make a profit of £61million in the process, and that doesn’t even include add-ons.

How Chelsea can complete Sergio Aguero transfer

Sergio Aguero has announced he is to leave Manchester City at the end of this season when his contract expires.

Chelsea are in the market for a new striker this summer, with the Argentine reported to be one of the names on their shortlist alongside Romelu Lukaku and, of course, Erling Haaland.

The Blues were interested in signing the striker way back in 2010, before he joined City, with Aguero hinting that he would like a move to London.

But if Chelsea do want to sign him, they will face competition from six other clubs, according to bookmakers Betfair.

Barcelona are the favourites for his signature, and Real Madrid are the second-favourites at 5/2.

Juventus, Independiente, PSG, and Manchester United are also in the running, alongside Chelsea, who are 16/1 to sign him.

The summer transfer window is just around the corner.

And the rumour mill is already starting to pick up speed.

New Chelsea head coach Thomas Tuchel will surely be looking to strengthen the squad he was given when he took over from Frank Lampard and there have already been a number of top players linked with a move, including Erling Haaland.

The striker is thought to be the Blues’ number on transfer priority.

Werner decision

Timo Werner will reportedly refuse a potential swap deal involving Borussia Dortmund star Erling Haaland .

Recent reports from Sport have indicated that Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel would be willing to let the Germany international leave this summer, so long as Haaland is recruited.

But German newspaper Bild claim Werner is not interested in heading back to the Bundesliga as part of any deal with Dortmund.

The 25-year-old arrived in west London from RB Leipzig last summer, but his first season in England has been anything but smooth sailing.

Werner has notched 10 goals in 39 appearances across all competitions this season and has netted just once in the Premier League since November.
