Juve win showdown

Despite not playing very well, Juventus were 1-0 winners over Roma thanks to Moise Kean’s 16th-minute goal. Here’s the moment the Italy international fired the hosts into the lead:

Juve only had six shots in the game and produced an xG of 1.59, but AS Roma were thoroughly better on the night, passing it at a better percentage, creating five more quality chances and recording an xG of 2.05 on 15 total shots.

And while Juve were in control on the scoreline, they needed their goalkeeper Wojchiech Szczensy to come up big with this penalty save:

The victory moves Juve to within a point of the top four, while Roma remain in fourth with their third loss in their last five games.

Osimhen the hero for spooky Napoli

Napoli are now 8-0-0 to start the season thanks to their 1-0 win over Torino, leaving it late thanks to Victor Osimhen’s winner in the 81st minute to remain atop the table. Napoli produced 10 shots in the match, one less than Torino, but recorded the superior xG (1.59-1.09) and always felt likely to find a dramatic winner, having done it multiple times already this season.

And they did it wearing their brand new Halloween kits by Kappa:

Looking good and feeling good after a win that keeps them in the early driver’s seat.

Atalanta find their scoring touch

For the first time all season, Atalanta found their scoring boots and put four past Empoli to move to sixth in the table. They hadn’t scored three goals in a game yet this season, but they went further ahead and got four, though one was an own goal.

Two goals in either half paced the visitors, with Duvan Zapata getting his 100th goal in the league in the dying moments.

Atalanta recorded 22 shots on the night, 10 more than Empoli
