Juventus lost for the second consecutive match as Atalanta and Lazio shared a goal-filled draw and Torino got back to winning ways in Serie A. Hellas Verona’s Giovanni Simeone continued his impressive scoring record as the star of Saturday’s action with a brace while Marten de Roon was the hero for La Dea late in the day.

We catch up.

Verona 2, Juventus 1

Suddenly, Juve appear fragile again.

After losing 2-1 to Sassuolo, Massimiliano Allegri’s men went down by the same score away at Verona.

Not only was it Simeone scoring twice to continue his impressive run of six goals in three appearances, it was the Bianconeri falling further behind in their quest to regain the Serie A title with Igor Tudor’s men now overtaking them in the table.

Juve, for emphasis, are 13 points off the pace set by Napoli and AC Milan having played a game more.

Atalanta 2, Lazio 2

This pair’s minor grudge match finished square on Saturday, but it required a late De Roon leveler to end 2-2 at Gewiss Stadium.

Pedro had put Lazio ahead only for Atalanta to equalize through Duvan Zapata and then the same thing then happened within the final 16 minutes through Ciro Immobile and later De Roon to ensure that it ended in a draw.

The pair remain fifth and sixth respectively and just outside of the Champions League places.

Torino 3, Sampdoria 0

Dennis Praet, Wilfried Singo and Andrea Belotti all scored as Torino ran out 3-0 winners over Sampdoria to move up to 10th in Serie A with Ivan Juric’s men adding to their good home record so far this season with a third victory of the campaign in Turin.

Meanwhile, Roberto D’Aversa’s side move dangerously close to the relegation zone with the coach now fighting for his life after such a heavy loss.
