Slavia Prague defender Ondrej Kudela has been banned for 10 matches by UEFA after racially abusing Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara.
34-year-old Kudela racially abused former Arsenal midfielder Kamara during Slavia’s last-16 victory over Rangers at Ibrox last month.
UEFA confirmed in a statement that Kudela’s suspension already includes the provisional suspension he served during the Europa League quarter-final match against Arsenal last week.
Gunners academy graduate Kamara has also received a three match ban after Slavia claimed Kudela was attacked by the Finnish midfielder following the full time whistle.
Police Scotland launched an investigation into the incident and had hoped to speak with Czech international upon his arrival in England for the Europa League quarter-final first leg.
However, he did not travel to Scotland with Slavia putting down the player’s absence as due to “health problems.”
Kudela had already been in the UK since the incident took place when he represented the Czech national team in their World Cup qualifier against Wales last month.
Kamara’s solicitor Aamer Anwar had previously issued a statement urging the authorities to take action against Kudela for his racist behaviour.
“There can never be any justification for the deeply offensive, provocative and racist language that Kudela is accused of using,” said Anwar.
