Tammy Abraham has already made Arsenal admission as Chelsea striker linked with Emirates transfer

Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham appears to be on his way out of Stamford Bridge this summer, and the latest reports claim Arsenal are interested in his signing.

Abraham, 23, has struggled for regular game time since Thomas Tuchel took over from now ex-Blues boss and club legend Frank Lampard in late January.

With the west Londoners in need of raising funds in order to help afford a potential Erling Haaland deal this summer, the English striker is reportedly one of the names on the list the club are actively looking to sell.

Many teams have been interested in acquiring the signature of the Chelsea exile, with Aston Villa, Leicester City and fellow London club West Ham all linked with the wantaway striker.

However, a reported price tag of £40million-plus put on Abraham by the club has prevented any deal taking place at this current moment.

But there is another club to have recently joined the race for the Chelsea striker, and that’s surprisingly Arsenal, according to The Telegraph.

The Gunners may need a new striker this summer if French striker Alexandre Lacazette was to leave the club.

And Abraham’s admission in the past could imply that a deal to the Emirates Stadium isn’t as ridiculous as it initially sounds to many fans of both teams.

After the Blues’ 2-1 win in the London derby in the 2019/20 season, a match in which Abraham scored the winning goal for Chelsea in the 87th minute after a swift counter-attack, the striker spoke after the game and revealed something that could be of huge relevance to Gunners fans considering the latest links.

“It feels amazing,” Abraham told Chelsea TV when speaking about his winner. “It’s even more special for me considering my family are all Arsenal fans, so I can’t wait to go home.”

Chelsea’s academy graduate when on to add: “Ever since I started at Chelsea, they have always supported me and became Chelsea fans.

“But the ones back home – I can’t want to go and see them.”

Roman Abramovich and the board of directors at the club would not have the Gunners down as the ideal destination for their young star, but they may have no choice after the latest developments.

Sky Germany claim Chelsea have discussed the possibility of sending the striker, or his teammate Callum Hudson-Odoi, to Borussia Dortmund in part-exchange for Haaland.

This informal offer was said to be immediately swatted away by the German club, who insist that the 20-year-old is not for sale.

It is understood that an offer of around £150m could be enough to make Dortmund reconsider their position when it comes to Haaland’s future at the Westfalenstadion.

Despite Chelsea’s reluctance to sell the ex-Aston Villa loanee to a direct rival in Arsenal, they may be left with no choice if the north Londoners were the only club willing to meet their demands.

Petr Cech, Willian, David Luiz, and Olivier Giroud are just a few players that have swapped colours between the two London giants over the years, meaning that an Abraham to Arsenal deal this summer simply cannot be ruled out with the Blues in desperate need of funds.
