‘This is beautiful’ – Chelsea fans love what Jorginho did against Brentford in Carabao Cup clash

Chelsea booked their place in the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night with a 2-0 victory away to Brentford.

The Bees frustrated Thomas Tuchel’s side for much of the game and it was not until the 80th minute that Chelsea edged in front, thanks to a Pontus Jansson own goal.

Jorginho made the result sure five minutes later, coolly converting from the spot after Christian Pulisic had been brought down by Brentford goalkeeper Alvaro Fernandez.

Chelsea will now face Spurs in their two-legged semi-final for a place at Wembley. Arsenal and Liverpool will contest the other match after Sunderland and Leicester were beaten respectively.

It has not been the easiest few weeks for Tuchel as his side continue to be battered by Covid-19 issues. A 0-0 draw with Wolves on Sunday saw them slip six points behind Manchester City in the title race.

But one moment on Wednesday provided fans with plenty of cheer.

After replacing Mateo Kovacic in midfield, Jorginho started to boss proceedings in his usual style. After putting Chelsea 2-0 ahead, the Italian started to enjoy himself.

Receiving the ball under pressure from three Brentford players in his own half, the midfielder took all three out of the game in one swift movement, pirouetting away from two and poking the ball beyond the third to launch an attack.
