Thomas Tuchel ‘asks’ Roman Abramovich to consider controversial Erling Haaland transfer plan

Thomas Tuchel is said to have devised a new plan to sign Borussia Dortmund superstar Erling Haaland.

Haaland is at the top of Chelsea‘s shortlist ahead of the summer transfer window, but it has been setback after setback in recent weeks.

The Dortmund star, who will likely command more than £100million this summer, is said to want a ‘top club’ and reports claim Chelsea do not fit into that category as far as the Norwegian is concerned.

The likes of Manchester United and Real Madrid are also interested, and both clubs appear to be ahead in the queue, if indeed Haaland decides to leave at all.

“I still have three years of contract. I am not upset about that,” Haaland said recently. “The media are the ones who write about it, I don’t focus on those things. I want to improve every day.”

But Tuchel has a plan, or at least according to Sport. A report from the Spanish outlet claims Tuchel has approached Roman Abramovich to ask if he can use Timo Werner to sweeten the deal.

Werner has not exactly hit the ground running since his £47.6million move from RB Leipzig in the summer, and the report claims he could be offered back to Bundesliga already.

In truth, it seems very unlikely Chelsea would consider shipping Werner out already and Tuchel has helped the German forward improve since arriving in late January.

Werner has scored 10 and assisted as many in his first 39 Chelsea appearances, and while that doesn’t compare particularly well to his Leipzig form, there is hope he can improve his record as the Blues continue to improve under Tuchel.
