Tottenham fans spot what Steven Bergwijn and Matt Doherty did after victory vs Leeds United

Tottenham Hotspur fans are seemingly not impressed with Steven Bergwijn and Matt Doherty after the Leeds United win.

Spurs came from behind to beat Leeds 2-1 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday, the club’s first Premier League win under new manager Antonio Conte.

Dan James had given the visitors the lead before the break, but second-half goals from Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Sergio Reguilon had the home fans jumping for joy and Conte was even more jubilant at the full-time whistle, passionately embracing his players and coaching staff.

However, fans watching from home spotted two players who didn’t appear overly keen for a big embrace from the Spurs boss.

Bergwijn and Doherty were both approached by an overjoyed Conte, but the duo’s faces looked the opposite of jubilant.

Dutch forward Bergwijn is yet to play under his new boss, having been an unused substitute in Conte’s first three matches in charge, and Irish defender Doherty has hardly fared better, with a 19-minute cameo off the bench against Everton his only game time under the Italian.

Regardless of their situation, Spurs supporters spotted the incident, and some took to Twitter to share their frustration.

@fpl_gaz: From the post-match hugs etc you can see who is bought in and who isn’t. I’d say question marks over Doherty, Bergwijn and Sanchez and even Tanganga.

@nad_THFC: Bergwijn & Doherty not interested in the slightest #GetRid

@yidoo90: Win as one, lose as one. Bergwijn’s days are numbered.

@itstartedin1882: Bergwijn could hardly muster up a smile when Conte grabbed him to celebrate, and that’s the problem with this awful bunch, they only care about themselves. Massive clear out needed, and I hope Conte is given everything he needs to oversee it all.

@lillywhite10: Honestly think Bergwijn is just that quiet sullen sort of personality.

@LeonRegista : All these egoistic players. If you win as A BENCH PLAYER you have to celebrate as a SQUAD PLAYER. Spineless behaviour.

@tuckers35 : Bergwijn weren’t having none of it! Probably sulking at not playing. Ship him out too.

@stu_a_rt : Stevie’s attitude here sums up half this squad! Sulking even though his team won an important match! And Doherty also… get a grip lads!!

@foet247europa : Bergwijn and Doherty were just following the corona rules.
