The U.S. Men’s National Team will travel to take on Panama on Sunday in Matchday 5 of the final round of 2022 Concacaf World Cup qualifying. Now the USMNT will take on a Panamanian side that played a major role in ousting the Americans in the last cycle and you can catch all the action live on Paramount+.

CONCACAF World Cup qualifying picks for Panama vs. USMNT

Before you tune in to Sunday’s World Cup qualifiers, you need to see the CONCACAF World Cup qualifiers picks from CBS Sports lead soccer writer Roger Gonzalez. For USMNT vs. Panama, Gonzalez is picking the USA to win on the 90-minute money line. The Americans have had their eyes set on the 2022 FIFA World Cup since failing to qualify four years ago and there was some panic after they began the final round of 2022 Concacaf World Cup qualifying with a pair of disappointing draws and by going down 1-0 to Honduras on Matchday 3.

However, the USMNT put its confidence in the exciting young talent it has and was rewarded in a big way. The Americans scored four goals in the second half to defeat Honduras and after dominating the first half against Jamaica despite a 0-0 score line, Ricardo Pepi scored twice in the second half to send the USMNT to the top of the table.

Neither Pepi or Brenden Aaronson are of legal drinking age yet but they’ve combined for five goals and two assists in World Cup qualifying. Neither are Sergino Dest or Yunus Musah, but they both played starring roles in the win against Jamaica and all four are taking advantage of opportunities to establish themselves with Gio Reyna and Christian Pulisic out. Look for the youngsters to continue that trend on Sunday and seize control of its own destiny the rest of the way.
