Ex-Arsenal player Jack Wilshere has named Santi Cazorla as the best player and the most enjoyable that he has shared the Emirates Stadium pitch with during his time at Arsenal.
Wilshere, 29, is currently without a club after his short loan spell with Championship club AFC Bournemouth came to a close at the end of the 2020/21 season.
The now 29-year-old’s stay at Arsenal lasted a total of 11 years.
In that time, the English midfielder played a total of 198 games in all competitions for Arsenal’s first team, scoring a total of 14 goals and assisting 30.
Now without a club, the midfielder has a lot of time on his hands and as a consequence, he has been opening up to Tubes on his YouTube channel about many different topics related to his career.
A few questions were posed to ex Arsenal man, and one was in relation to the best player he played with when at the north London club.
“The best player I played with, there are a few,” said Wilshere. “It’s so hard to name one. I played with Ozil, Fabregas and Van Persie.
“The one that I enjoyed playing with the most on a regular basis was probably Santi Cazorla.
“What a guy and what a player! Mate, he was a joke [on taking corners with both feet].
“Honestly, you could not tell from the first day he came in, you couldn’t tell what foot he was. I have never seen anything like it before.”
Cazorla, 36, is still playing football nowadays at Qatari side Al-Sadd SC.
The now 36-year-old featured a total of 180 times in the red and white of Arsenal, scoring 29 goals and assisting 45.
74 total goal contributions during his time at the Emirates Stadium- it isn’t hard to see why most Gunners fans adored the Spanish flare he use to provide in the attacking areas week in week out.
The summer window is officially open, and it’s going to be tough to keep up with the comings and goings in and out of the Emirates.
