Thiago Silva gives Dani Alves a gift

Thiago Silva has become a firm fan favourite at Stamford Bridge since arriving as a free agent in the summer of 2020 and his good form has maintained his place in the Brazil national team.

He linked up with his teammates again this week ahead of their World Cup qualifier with Paraguay and ahead of kick-off, he exchanged gifts with Barcelona right-back Dani Alves.

Usually done after games, the pair exchanged their club shirts with one another, and shared a photograph to Instagram.

Writing alongside it, Silva said: “Changing shirts with the biggest winner in football history. Good Crazy @danialves , I love you my brother.”

Borussia Dortmund join Sule hunt

Bayern Munich centre-back Niklas Sule is set to be one of the summer’s most sought after assets with the 26-year-old set to become a free agent at the end of the season.

football.london also Sule is under consideration at Chelsea with Thomas Tuchel faced with the prospect of having to replace three first-choice defenders.

Antonio Rudiger, Cesar Azpilicueta and Andreas Christensen are all set to become free agents at the end of the current campaign, with little progress seemingly made of late to tie either down.

But signing Sule will not be easy, with Sport1 reporting that Borussia Dortmund have also now joined the chasing pack interested in the defender.

Neither Arsenal or Chelsea enjoyed particularly exciting January transfer windows, with neither first-team strengthened over the past four weeks.

But there is a case to be argued that Arsenal’s was far more effective.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Folarin Balogun and Sead Kolasinac were all among those to leave the Emirates, clearing vital space in the squad ahead of the summer.

Chelsea, however, saw just one player leave the club, with Lewis Baker joining Reading, meaning players will once again need to be shipped out in the summer.
