Tottenham boss Nuno Espirito Santo may have just been handed a boost in the race to make his first signing as manager.
Espirito Santo, who took over as Spurs head coach recently following Jose Mourinho’s sacking as manager earlier this year, is yet to make a signing but that could be about to change.
But the former Wolves boss will be keen to change that in the coming weeks as he looks to bolster his options ahead of his first season in charge in N17.
One of the weakest part of Mourinho‘s team last season was the defence, which saw Spurs concede 45 goals across the course of the campaign, albeit with Ryan Mason in charge for the final few games.

football.london understands Tottenham are on the lookout for a new central defender this summer and have shown an interest in Lyon man Joachim Andersen after his impressive loan spell with London rivals Fulham.
However, another name that keeps cropping up and refuses to go away is Maxence Lacroix of Wolfsburg.
The 21-year-old Wolfsburg defender enjoyed a fine season in the Bundesliga last time out and has attracted interest from numerous clubs across Europe, according to reports.
Two of those clubs are thought to be Spurs, as well as RB Leipzig, but the latter have reportedly made a big decision in the race for Lacroix’s signature.
Leipzig have now been priced out of a move for the Wolfsburg centre-back, according to Sport Bild, via Spurs-Web.
Foot Mercato, via the Express, recently reported that Leipzig offered £15.45million for Lacroix, but the German club were quick to turn it down and demand £17.16m instead – which, it appears, the Red Bull outfit are not willing to meet.
Speaking to Kicker recently, Wolfsburg’s sporting director Marcel Schafer insisted Lacroix was to stay put with the Bundesliga club.
“I assume that he will continue to play for us,” Schafer said. “He can take another big step in his development with us in the Champions League.”
