What Thomas Tuchel said to Timo Werner in Chelsea training as Marina Granovskaia can save £48m

Here’s all the news from around Stamford Bridge over the past 24 hours.

Aguero has already approved Chelsea transfer

Sergio Aguero has already given his verdict on Chelsea amid talk of a transfer this summer.

Aguero has confirmed he will leave Manchester City after 10 years this summer when his contract expires, sparking interest from a number of clubs around Europe.

According to MailOnline, Chelsea lead the race despite talk of a move to Barcelona for Aguero, with the report claiming the Argentine wants to stay in the Premier League.

And it seems the former Atletico Madrid star might be keen on a move to west London having previously praised the club.

“I look at players like [Didier] Drogba and [Frank] Lampard and they have been – and still are – the best players in their positions in the world,” he once said. “I could really learn from players like that.

“Chelsea are a great club. They have become one of the most feared in Europe over recent years.

“London would be a really amazing city to live in as well – myself and my wife could be really happy there.”

What Tuchel did to Werner in training

Thomas Tuchel has confirmed that Timo Werner will start for Chelsea against West Bromwich Albion and is adamant the forward will rediscover his goalscoring touch in the weeks ahead.

Werner has struck just twice for the Blues since November 8 and missed a late gilt-edged opportunity in midweek for Germany in their shock 2-1 home defeat to North Macedonia.

But Tuchel insists Werner doesn’t need to overthink his situation at Chelsea or try to overexert himself in training – hence why he rejected the striker’s request to work on his finishing.

“It is the moment not to think about it, not to read about it, not to even train extra,” the Blues head coach said. “Yesterday I sent him in from training because he wanted to do some finishing with us.

“I just sent him in.

“I said you don’t need that, your body your brain knows how to score. You did it since you were six years old so don’t worry, it will come. If a woman does not want to go out with you for dinner, you cannot force her to. So just step a little bit back. Maybe she will call you.”

The summer transfer window is just around the corner.

And the rumour mill is already starting to pick up speed.

New Chelsea head coach Thomas Tuchel will surely be looking to strengthen the squad he was given when he took over from Frank Lampard and there have already been a number of top players linked with a move, including Erling Haaland.

The striker is thought to be the Blues’ number on transfer priority.

Lukaku price-tag

Aguero is not the only striker being linked with a move to Chelsea.

Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland appears to be the first-choice option, but if a deal can’t happen the Blues are willing to spend big money to bring Romelu Lukaku back to Stamford Bridge in what would be a stunning swoop.

That is according to The Telegraph.

Romelu Lukaku and Erling Haaland have been linked with summer moves to Chelsea.

And they will have to spend big as Italian outlet Corriere Dello Sport claim Inter Milan will demand a fee in the region of £102m for Chelsea to be reunited with their former player.

Meanwhile, a monstrous €180million (£150m) bid will be enough to tempt Dortmund into selling Haaland this summer, as reported by ESPN FC.

This means the Blues could save about £48m if transfer chief Marina Granovskaia opts to make a move for Lukaku.
