The 2020/21 Premier League season has been an unusual one, to say the least.
The season promised to be one of the most competitive in recent memory with nine different sides – including Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur – topping the league at different times this campaign.
However, Manchester City were crowned champions after putting together an outstanding run which saw them win 21 straight games in all competitions between December and March.
Fulham, West Bromwich Albion and Sheffield United were then decided as the three teams to be relegated from the top-flight in a season that has sorely missed fans inside stadiums.
With one season-ending another one is on the horizon as football fans all over the country are already excited for the 2021/22 Premier League campaign.
When does the 2021/22 Premier League season start?
The Premier League 2021-22 season will start on Saturday, August 14, 2021.
The opening match will be just over one month after the Euro 2020 final this August, meaning some players will only have a couple of weeks holiday before another season commences.
With fans set to be back in grounds and fixture congestion to be less frequent, next season is shaping up to be another exciting installment of the English top-flight.
The final matchday of the 2021/22 season will be played in exactly one year with game week 38 sweet to occur on Sunday, May 22, 2022.
