Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and every Premier League club have discovered when the summer transfer window will open and close.
For two years prior to last summer’s window that closed in October because of the coronavirus pandemic that caused massive disruption to football, Premier League teams were only able to sign players up until the eve of the new season.
However, as reported by the Guardian, it was not a popular decision as clubs – particularly the “big six” – felt the early closure of the window, while other leagues stayed open, left them exposed to losing players without the opportunity to replace them.
As a result, in February last year, the Premier League voted to revert to the same summer transfer window as Europe’s other major leagues.
Of course, that couldn’t come into play in the summer of 2020 for the reasons mentioned above, but it has been announced by the Premier League that the next window will remain open until the end of August.
A statement reads: “The Premier League has today confirmed the dates for the Summer 2021 Transfer Window.
“The window will open for 12 weeks from 9 June and will close at 23:00 BST on 31 August.
“This will align with other European leagues.”

This announcement is good news for the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Spurs who have all been tipped to be busy in the summer.
The likes of Romelu Lukaku, Erling Haaland, and Sergio Aguero have been linked with moves to Stamford Bridge, while football.londonunderstands the Gunners are hopeful of signing at least four new players.
As for Spurs, who are yet to announce their new manager after sacking Jose Mourinho, might face a big summer trying to keep hold of Harry Kane whilst trying to improve the first-team squad.
