Tottenham delivered a commanding performance in the second half to secure a 4-1 victory over West Ham in a Premier League clash at north London.
West Ham’s winger, Mohammed Kudus, opened the scoring in the 18th minute, converting a Jarrod Bowen cross after missing a similar chance earlier. However, Tottenham responded through Dejan Kulusevski, who equalized in the 36th minute with a shot that ricocheted off both posts.
Although Spurs were dominant throughout the first half, they reached another level after the break, with Pape Matar Sarr coming on for James Maddison. The breakthrough came just seven minutes into the second half when Yves Bissouma finished off Destiny Udogie’s cross, giving Spurs the lead.
Son Heung-min, instrumental in Tottenham’s attack, had his shot saved by Alphonse Areola, only for the rebound to deflect off Jean-Clair Todibo and into the net. Son added to the scoreline five minutes later, capitalizing on a defensive mix-up to score after West Ham failed to clear their lines. He narrowly missed adding another, striking the post soon after.
The match took a dramatic turn when Mohammed Kudus was shown a red card after a VAR review revealed he had pushed both Pape Matar Sarr and Micky van de Ven in the face.
Tottenham’s second-half display was a fitting response to their recent disappointment, where they let a 2-0 lead slip in a 3-2 loss to Brighton before the international break, a defeat manager Ange Postecoglou had called his “worst” since joining the club.
